Job Description:

    Student Advising: (50%)
  • Devise a strategic plan/Advisor Calendar which guides the policies, plans, targets, and practices of the Access Centre department.
  • Conduct meetings with each assigned student, at least once a month
  • Guide students in completing and submitting applications to their preferred universities
  • Establish communication with O Level feeder schools for Beaconhouse College Programme (BCP)
  • Maintain effective communication with national and international stakeholders to gather information that will help students applying for admissions
  • Record Keeping: (20%)
  • Maintain detailed student files for career advising purposes and manage records of all formal meetings including individual sessions with students
  • Maintain a real-time log for each student's admission applications process and end the year by documenting where they were finally placed
  • Share data sheets with the Manager BCP and School Head in real-time
  • Ensure confidentiality of all student meetings
  • Support and contribute to aligning the school counselling programmes with the mission of BCP
  • Maintain a database of testimonials and pictures/videos for students receiving prominent college acceptances and placements
  • Counselling Events: (15%)
  • Host on-campus seminars by international/ national universities and colleges as per the Advisor Calendar
  • Coordinate with the ACE coordinator for inviting students and making necessary event arrangements
  • Publicise all BCP/Access Centre related events on relevant social media platforms
  • Actively participate and take ownership of the Beaconhouse National College Fair and all counselling related events
  • Administrative Support: (10%)
  • Support admin staff in the admissions cycle by providing career counselling expertise
  • Support admin staff in marketing of BCP to BSS feeder schools and non-BSS O Level schools for transition and admission process
  • Discipline, Health and Safety, and School Ethos (5%)
  • Promote standards of conduct, discipline, and proper regard for authority among students
  • Manage student behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in case of misbehaviour
  • Ensure student safety on the school premises and when they are engaged in authorised school activities elsewhere
  • Support the School Head in maintaining cordial relations with parents and promoting the school ethos
