Starting school can be an anxious and stressful time for parents and children. It is important that both are prepared for the transition to regular school. To help with the transition, the school hosts a warm reception to welcome its youngest recruits. Such a party is a standard procedure for welcoming all new recruits in pre-nursery.
The event is made colourful, fun and exciting and many activities and performances are planned to familiarise the children with their new surroundings and to form a positive association with the school.
At the event, the principal addresses the audience and distributes giveaways; students deliver nursery rhyme recitals, share their memories and experiences of pre-nursery. The children and their parents visit the classrooms and engage in play activities specially designed for the occasion. The parents are also given a handbook of the Beaconhouse School System to study in detail.
Beaconhouse junior branch Multan hosted a festive party to welcome the pre-nursery newcomers in September 2009.
