`My First Acrostic-Eastern Counties` to Publish Poetry by Newslands Students
14/06/2010

As a group of children with a passion for creative writing, the pupils in Mrs Todd’s class needed little encouragement in rising to the challenge of producing a poem for the Young Writers Competition.

The ‘My First Acrostic’ competition was open to children between the ages of five and seven across the country and overseas. Over 43,000 poems were sent to judges for consideration.

All of the children have been selected to have their individual poems published in the ‘My First Acrostic – Eastern Counties’ book, scheduled for publication in August 2010.

Class Teacher, Mrs. Todd said: “When I told the children about the competition they were all very excited about the prospect of seeing their poems in print and they took up the challenge with lots of enthusiasm. I am delighted that the judges felt that every one of their poems was worthy of publication.”
