Beaconhouse’s Pocklington Montessori is UK’s largest, purpose-built, independent Montessori school in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The school is now nationally recognised under the new accreditation programme, The Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Scheme.
This scheme ensures that schools using the Montessori name offer consistently high levels of care and Montessori provision. The Pocklington Montessori achieved its accreditation in December 2009, just three months after the school received an exceptional OfSTED inspection report highlighting the school’s outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years).
The school will be building on its success by gradually introducing the Key Stage 2 curriculum from September 2010. This will be done by starting a Year 3 class in September and then incrementally each year adding another class up to Year 6. The aim is to offer a wider choice to parents in the area with the school offering the benefits of a quality Montessori education for the whole of the Primary age range. |
